Form, function and colour
It is my goal to give each home a unique personality. I design and create spaces that capture and represent the individual tastes and lifestyles of my clients. A fitting selection of high-end furniture, furniture, and accessories is just as important as the home’s spatial layout itself. All aspects must be in tune with each other to allow you to truly feel at home.
My Tips:
• Create a central point in your home. Whether it’s your bedroom, your bathroom, or your kitchen. Design and decorate this room to serve as an oasis within your home. To achieve this I often incorporate high-end materials and furniture to create something truly special.
• Don’t be scared to experiment with colours and patterns as long as they work together harmoniously. Combine big elements with small accessories to create more depth within the rooms of your home.
• Try to focus on one family of colours when painting prominent areas or choosing your cabinetry. I recommend using different shades of one colour. You can still create colourful highlights later by incorporating decorations and accessories. These can easily be varied depending on the season or your general mood.
• If you like decorating your home with art, I recommend choosing a shade of white or crème for your walls. This allows you to proudly display your artworks and compliment them with small decorative items.
• When choosing furniture and accessories always think from largest to smallest. It is best to decide on the most substantial items first which allow you to fill out your rooms and create a foundation for any following smaller items. Always remember that often: less is more.
• Always keep proper lighting in mind. Light plays a vital role in our well-being and can create both positive and negative moods. I recommend choosing main bulbs that can be dimmed according to your needs which can then be accentuated by further lamps in warmer or cooler shades depending on their purpose.
As long as you keep functionality in mind when decorating your rooms you will always be able to create spaces that truly feel personal. Remember, you don’t need to figure out every last detail right at the beginning. Allow your home to develop and evolve, just like yourself. Your home will age like fine wine.
